On April 29th 2012 The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) and FINK will join forces to present a uniquely collaborative performance in Amsterdam’s prestigious Concertgebouw to a sold out crowd. They are simultaneously launching a groundbreaking live concert App for a global audience “RCO meets Fink”. Through this App the orchestra is opening up the Queen’s Night concert – an exciting annual collaboration between the classical and pop music world – in a way that has so far been impossible. The concert, conducted by Ivan Meylemans will feature FINK songs orchestrated by Jules Buckley, in combination with classical pieces.

The much-anticipated collaboration – organized with Entreé, the youth association of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra – is held on Queen’s night, (a yearly celebration of the Dutch Queen’s  Birthday) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Breaking new ground, this specially developed App will allow viewers to enjoy the sold out concert LIVE via the iPad. David Bazen (Deputy Business Director, RCO): “With the App we would like to introduce one of the world’s best symphony orchestras to a new and young audience all over the world. The App makes it possible for this unique performance by the orchestra and FINK to be broadcast worldwide, in addition to giving the viewer a unique concert experience at home.”

Concert as an App
The concert will be offered as a full HD video stream that enables the audience to enjoy it in the highest quality on the latest iPad and Apple TV hardware. At the end of June an update will be launched  which will include rehearsals, a retrospect with Fink, the RKCO and arranger Jules Buckley. Harnessing a unique timeline concept, the software will enables various audio and video layers to be played simultaneously vastly enriching the concert experience. And in an unprecedented technological advancement, the upgraded App will feature 360 degree video layers, allowing the viewer to experience the concert from the perspective of the musician creating the feeling of being right there on stage with the musicians.

The live webcast will start at 22.30 (CET) // 21:30 (GMT) // 16:30 (EST) on Sunday the 29th of April. The App is available for all iPad’s with iOS5 and is downloadable now via the Apple App store. http://bit.ly/RCOmeetsFink

The Japanese Popstars are excited to announce that they will be providing the ‘official soundtrack’ to Caterham F1 Team’s 2012 season. Caterham F1 will be providing the band with visuals for their videos and use of their cars for promotional purposes.  The band and F1 team will also be working together on official After-Race Events at key races during the season.  This is new concept for a Formula 1 Team and a first in the music industry.

The Japanese Popstars have said “It’s great to be involved with Caterham F1. They are a young team on the grid which makes it so exciting for us to be involved with something so fresh. There are relative similarities that resonate with us and the race team. The sheer crowd pleasing power they are achieving at each race is what we try and do with every track we produce and festival we play. To be able to write music for something totally unique as this is equally a pleasure and an honour. Go on you Greens!!”

Tom Webb, Caterham F1 Team Head of Communications, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to unveil the partnership between The Japanese Popstars and our team. We think it’s probably a first for F1, showcasing a band on our car and in the content we use to take our fans into the heart of our team, and it is down to a good idea being made possible by the commitment and energy of a lot of very good people.”

The Caterham F1 team have launched their new season by producing a film of their car on track.  The film shows Heikki Kovalainen at the wheel of the Caterham CT01 on the Jerez circuit.  It features The Japanese Popstars track, ‘Shells Of Silver’, and a sneak peak of their brand  new track,  ‘RS27’.  The new track was created using the sound of Renault’s RS27 engine (courtesy of Renault Sport and the Caterham F1 Team), which powers the team’s CT01 car. Keep an eye out for the bands logo in the car’s cockpit  (at 1:54)!

The guys are the first band to have their logo on a F1 Racing car!!!!!

The ‘RS27’ EP will be the 1st in series of F1 inspired releases for The Japanese Popstars in 2012.  More news soon.

The Japanese Popstars are Gary Curran, Declan ‘Decky Hedrock’ McLaughlin and Gareth Donoghue. These three lads from Northern Ireland have been racking up the air miles, carving out a global reputation to rival the biggest names in dance music.  They have been blowing away crowds at major festivals with their coruscating live show.  Highlights last year included Glastonbury, I.M.S (Ibiza), Dance Here Now and Camp Bisco (New York), Rockness, The Secret Garden Party and Bestival.  Last year the band also released their critically acclaimed  album   ‘Controlling Your Allegiance’ featuring a host of legendary guests (Robert Smith (The Cure), Green Velvet, Jon Spencer, Lisa Hannigan, Tom Smith (The Editors), Morgan Kibby (M83) and James Vincent McMorrow).

Set realistic goals and go with conviction to make them a reality. Try to be aware of your thoughts and actions, try to think and act less selfishly. Stop searching for advice in others, rather search within and find the answers that you already know. In an argument where you are in the right try to think of the other persons perspective. Be patient. Be kind. Be charitable. Be loving. Breathe. When the glass is half full, think about what steps you can take to fill it up. Stop regretting, its a waste of precious energy, rather see your past as lessons for future actions. Embrace and nurture real friends, be aware of those who are not. Cherish moments alone, and rejoice when you are surrounded by stimulus. Stop caring what people think about you and find strength in knowing you are great, strong, vibrant and resourceful. When you ask someone “how are you?”, actually care to listen to their answer. Listen to music and let it drive you forward with a skip in your step. Dance like no one is watching. Listen to your body and let it give you the strength to survive each day. Accept your faults, love your humanity, and remember that tomorrow is a new day. And 2012 is a NEW YEAR!!
